Singing is the entry point to pure being, an utterly empty, nonthinking state of mind. Every moment that we let the music tumble out, is a moment we don’t think anything at all.
Singing activates breathing. Although we can breathe without prompting, we usually stagger about strangled by entangling thoughts, rarely breathing fully and sometimes forgetting to breathe at all. Do you want to have a deeper and fuller encounter with life? Have a deeper and fuller encounter with oxygen.
Finally, singing is chanting and chanting is meditation. Every time we sing, there is an invitation for us, a focal point, a chance for concentration and simple absorption into the tune.
